Home Business is often underestimated by most people, they think its nickels and dimes. In fact millions of people now work at home and make good livings. Think of the advantages to starting a home business, no rent, no staff, no inventory, no expensive furniture, supplies and office equipment. It’s cheap to start a home business. Yes a home business is cheap to start, compared to a traditional business. The good thing about that is it can give you the biggest chance of success with the least risk. Also there are no gender or age barriers. Nor are there any special educational requirements, all you need to be able to do is read, write and use a computer.

Traditional businesses often take years to get into profit, if at all, many simply fail. Your home business could be profitable within a month. Pretty fast huh? All it takes is for you to get started, nothing is going to happen until you do that. Once you do you will be on your way to building something you can be very proud of. The amount of money you will make will often have to do with how much effort you invest. Generally its going to require a lot of effort in the beginning, especially if you are on a tight budget. Once the money begins coming in, invest in time consuming software and look to outsourcing some tasks.

Self Belief.
You need to believe in yourself so that others will too. Keep a positive attitude and it will help you through the rough spots.

Start With What You Know And Are Passionate About.
Draw a line down a piece of paper. On the left write down all the things you are interested in. In the second column write down the same words again but this time they need to be the ones you actually know about. Those are the things you should distil down. Once you have one thing that you know about, are passionate about and think you could make money from…choose it and go for it.

Planning.
Yes, you do have to plan or you plan to fail. Figure out how much your costs are going to be. How much profit you need to make on your costs and that’s your income target. Doing this gives you a goal and to work it out you need to know your costs. All of a sudden you have a budget. Now make a plan on how to get those sales.

All successful people have big dreams, that’s what motivates them. You really need to internalise it. Saying to yourself “I want to be rich” is NOT a dream. You need to know what you will do with the money, that’s the dream.

if you think you’re going to get rich by ripping people off, you’re wrong. You’ll just go to jail instead. Be an honest upstanding person, a leader in your community and people will be proud to recommend your services.

Get Some Help.
Everyone needs help now and then. If you cannot fix a problem within 4 hours, you are never going to fix it. Stop and go get some help so you can move on.

Seek Out Winners.
Join associations, find the winners in your field or your industry or your community. Listen to them. Ask them questions, then shutup and listen. Take notes and learn.

Time Leveraging.
Your most valuable asset is time, once spent it’s gone. Use it wisely. Do not try and do all the tasks and jobs your home business needs done. Prioritize. Outsource the repetitive menial tasks, focus more on the things that make the money. Also outsource all tasks that require higher skills than you have, like bookkeeping for example.

Positivity.
You have heard the saying make lemonade when life gives you lemons. Well it’s true, life will jump on you hard form time to time, you need to stay positive and survive it.

Account Keeping.
Al Capone went to jail for not paying taxes, don’t do that. Make sure you hire a bookkeeper and you keep good accounts. It’s also the only way you can measure your progress.

Make it Fun.
Business does not have to be boring and serious. Stay light hearted and make it all a bit of fun, you’ll live longer and enjoy it more.
